We have learned that Mayor Narkewicz and the City of Northampton’s Chief Information Officer Antonio Pagan will be traveling to Westfield tomorrow. The purpose is to tour the Whip City Fiber facilities there, presumably to get a better first hand understanding of the technical, cost and managerial issues in running a community network. We toured the facility back in April and reported on our meeting there when we met with the mayor in May.
We also understand that surveys will be going on in the next week. We assume they will use the surveys we drafted in June and that they will be posted on the city’s website. The mayor suggested this approach in our May meeting.
